ABOUT IHRAM
Ihram is the ritual entering into the sacred state, by a pilgrim, with a view to enter the sacred land for Hajj or Umrah or for both. Ihrams comprise two lengths of white cloths, each about two-meter long, without seam. The first one serves as loin clothes (Lungi) and is wound around waist. The second piece covers the whole torso. This makes the pilgrims a unified man of human beings.
Once a pilgrim has donned Ihram and declared his intent (Niyat) and has pronounced Talbiyah, (the formula prayer), some of things and acts become unlawful (Haram) for him.
